Computer Club World

The coolest merch goes global, on the coolest website.

Computer Club World

We asked our community to share pictures wearing our merch across the globe. The result? Over 150 pins in 36 countries. And one, very sexy website.

The website

We really have to start with the website itself. Computer Club thrives on that sweet, sweet retro nostalgia. And we hadn't done anything with the Windows 98 aesthetic. But boy, did that escalate quickly.

Computer Club World is a working Windows OS, complete with booting screen, windowing, and even a Winamp player. And Clippy, of course.

A map of the world with pins. It's a window of a Windows 98 environment.
A rare moment when Clippy shuts up.

Some highlights

Some two summers into its existence, people have posted so many cool pictures (which are being cross-posted to our forum) from so many different locations.

Here are a few highlights.

Go far

Go famous

Get together

Get busy

Cute

Cool

Or just ... pretty

Team Computer Club World

This project is the perfect example of an idea that took on a life of its own.

All thanks to this amazing crew: Pieterjan, Wim, and Bart (who also made Clubintosh for the Playdate).

If you're interested in how it was made, the website has a readme file (because of course it does).

Putting the Club in Computer Club

Nearly 7 years into Computer Club, we've recorded over 350 podcasts and published over 220 newsletters. That's cool.

Our community? That's even cooler.

The meetups, our old-school forum.

And, in this case:

  • Over 1400 webshop orders shipped.
  • And crazy projects like Computer Club World.

It's what really keeps me going.
